A fire at a textile factory in Narsingdi has killed three people, including a Pakistani national.
Police said that at least 12 others have been injured in the fire, which broke out around 5:45am on Saturday.
It took 11 fire-fighting units almost three hours to put out the flames. Fire tenders from Dhaka too were pressed into service to extinguish the inferno.
Narsingdi Fire Service’s Deputy Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman told bdnews24.com said that they suspect the fire originated from the warehouse, which stored chemicals for the factory.
Two of the deceased had been identified as the factory’s production manager Ashiqur Rahman, a Pakistani citizen and designer Ramjan Ali, 40, said Narsingdi’ Superintendent of Police Amen Begum.
